Pastor's Current Reminders and Updates

April 5, 2024

Thanks to everyone that had a part in helping us have a great Mutton Bustin and Outreach at the Walker County Fair last weekend. It was well organized and everyone pitching in made it a great day.

Thanks also to everyone that provided Easter Eggs for the kids. If you took plastic eggs home after church it will be a great help if you will return them so we can have plenty for next year.

This Sunday we’ll have our Potluck Fellowship after the service. The theme is “salads” so bring your favorite salad creation to share.

I hope to see you all this weekend.

In Christ,

Reggie

Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

March 29, 2024

This is just another reminder about this weekend. If you’re coming to Mutton Bustin you might consider bringing a bottle of water.

March 25, 2024

Mutton Bustin: Thanks to all who’ve signed up to work this event next Saturday (3/30). If you didn’t sign up but would like to help please feel free to join us. There has been a slight time change. We announced earlier that we’d need to be at the Walker County Fairgrounds at 7am. That time has changed to 8am. When you arrive let the ticket takers in the front know you are there to work and they should let you in for free.

Easter Sunday: Please plan to join us Sunday for Easter. We will share in the Lord’s Supper during the service.

I hope to see you all this weekend.

In Christ,

Reggie

Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

Don’t forget to reset your clocks this weekend

Rhonda announced an opportunity to give to those in the Panhandle that are affected by the wildfires. This is the information she shared:

Stockmen’s FeedBunk, INC.

“We have set up a disaster relief account and are accepting donations at our Dalhart store or via mail. Proceeds will go towards hay, feed, and fencing materials for those affected by the recent panhandle fires.”

COWBOY KIDS:

When you take a child by the hand, you take a parent by the heart! Did you know that 85% of the people who come to Christ do so before the age of 18?

Our kids are vitally important to the church TODAY and they prepare to be the leaders of TOMORROW!

It’s amazing how the church has rallied together to help keep our kids class going! THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE HELPING BEHIND THE SCENES! Some help with projects at home, others help with monetary gifts, words of encouragement, etc.

Reminder: We need toilet paper rolls and volunteers. We understand not all people are ‘up’ to it but we really want Jenn to have a chance to worship with Jed a few times each month. The lesson will be prepared for you and all supplies are available! Just need willingness for an adult to play with a child for approximately 30-40 minutes. No judgment zone here!

THIS SUNDAY:

Speaking of Jed: POTLUCK THIS SUNDAY!

Jed asks that we honor “Pi Month” by bringing a pie to eat.

(For those who are asking what is “Pi”? It’s a math term- - -smart folks like Jed know this.)

The value of Pi is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter and is approximately equal to 3.14159.

To name a few potluck ideas: chicken pot pie, meat pie, pizza pie, shepherd’s pie, empanadas, etc. . .and don’t forget the dessert pies!

THANK YOU:

We enjoyed the testimonies given throughout the month of February. We hope many of you will feel comfortable enough to share your story of how God has touched your lives as well. Don’t wait for an invitation. Just speak up.

I hope to see you all on Sunday.

In Christ,

Reggie

February 10, 2024

1. Testimonies: Thanks to Edd for sharing his testimony last Sunday. Tomorrow we are in for a special treat when Grady tells us what the Lord has done in his life.

2. Prayer Requests:

-I hope you believe God hears and answers prayers. We have a living example in our church. Last week I asked you to continue to pray for Elaine as she would be leaving this world soon to be with Jesus. Since then, she has perked up and has made great progress. Before, she was unable to feed herself, was eating very little, slept most of the time and had very little conversations with others. Now she’s able to use both hands/arms and is on solid foods. She is awake more and is able to have normal conversations. She’s not yet able to stand for more than a few seconds and can’t walk. Therapists are working on her legs. Claude said everyone is welcome to visit and give her some encouragement. Again, she’s at River Pointe Healthcare & Rehab, room 460 in Trinity. Please continue to pray for her as well as Claude.

-Vernon asked that we pray for Lisa Blawm (given three weeks to live) and Sammie Dale.

-Pray for Mary Sherman. She’s the mother of Joy and Casey.

-We have other unspoken requests in our church. Please lift them up. God knows who they are.

I hope to see you all tomorrow.

In Christ,

Reggie

Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

February 3, 2024

1. A big thank you to James for tracing down the electrical problem on the front wall of the building. All the outlets are working now so we have more plugs for crockpots, etc.

2. We’ll have our potluck fellowship tomorrow. Last Sunday Jed suggested bringing a dish you loved that your “grandma” used to make.

3. The Honey Bee Class starts tomorrow, contingent on volunteers taking the class. We need several volunteers who are willing to rotate each week. This is for kids ages 1 ½ to 4. Parents, please supply diapers and sippy cups.

I hope to see you all tomorrow.

In Christ,

Reggie

Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

January 31, 2024

1. During the month of February we will have people sharing their testimony and we’ll hear what God’s love has done in their lives. You won’t want to miss their inspirational words.

2. We’ll have our potluck fellowship this Sunday. Bring your favorite dish and plan to join us for a great time of fellowship.

3. We have several in our church in need of prayer:

--Please continue to pray for Elaine, Claude and family.

--Vernon shared last Sunday that Connie is having health issues.

--Mary Sherman (Joy and Casey’s mom) needs our prayers

--There are others in our church that need our prayers. God knows who they are.

4. The following notes are from Julie:

In case you missed it:

* Cowboy Kids are now ready to accept the smaller ones in their own ‘HONEY BEE’ classroom. Ages 1 ½ to 4 will meet in the Cowboy Kid facility while infants will continue to use the ‘cry room’ for their own space. (If no volunteer is available, we cannot have a class for them that day.)

A volunteer just needs to be willing. We will supply you with any teaching material and supplies you would use.

* Older Cowboy Kids will be learning about the 12 Disciples and the individual personalities they each served with. Plus, we are working hard at taking better care of what God has supplied us with! Being good stewards!

* NEEDS:

* Baby Wipes (not cleaning wipes)

* Fresh hand sanitizer

* An air pump for the indoor kickball

* We currently have so many supplies but we will let you know when we have special projects! We will be updating you with an Easter supply list soon!

Your love and willingness are so appreciated. Our church family is a wonderful example for the next generation. Let us keep teaching our children how to serve!

I hope to see you all on Sunday,

In Christ,

Reggie

Please continue to pray for him. Greg has had a rough time over the past several months. Also pray for Brenda as she is his primary caregiver.
